Updated: No school for EPS on February, 17 and 18
Dear Edgewood Primary School Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to inform you of an unexpected situation that occurred at Edgewood Primary School. Due to a mishap, a main water line entering the building burst, resulting in approximately 191,000 gallons of water entering the school. This caused significant flooding in the 100 wing of the building.
As a result, Edgewood Primary School will be closed on Tuesday, February 17, and Wednesday, February 18, to allow for cleanup and repairs to begin and to ensure the safety of our students, staff and community.
Beginning, Thursday February 19th:
Transportation will run as normal, and
School at EPS will continue as usual beginning on Thursday, February 19th, except for Head Start.
Head Start families will be contacted directly by the ESC with specific information regarding their programming.
Edgewood City Schools is actively working with ServPro, a professional restoration company that has already been on site and has begun the process of cleaning and repair. This work will be carried out in multiple phases. Throughout the process, air quality will be monitored regularly and consistently to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our students, staff, and community.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this situation. Please know that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to keep you informed as updates become available.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at 513-867-3430 ext. 5011.
Thank you for your continued support of Edgewood Primary School.
Sincerely,
Jenny Halsey
Principal
Edgewood Primary School
